Mango in India is known as the “King of Fruits”, it is a national fruit.  Because of its color, sweet scent, exquisite flavors it simply woes heart of countless people all over World, it represents “prosperity, abundance and wealth”.

Inspired by this amazing fruit, I bring to you my Mango Chicken sauce.  The flavors are simple, and the hero is the mango.  The sauce is made with select quality ingredients without any nuts, gluten, color, dairy or added sugar.  Core to its nature of the mango the sauce is slightly sweet with very earthy and lingering taste of my curry powder.  Carefully crafted with utmost love, I am happy to say like my other sauces, it is kids friendly once you balance it with some good quality coconut cream.

Ingredients:  onion, mango concentrated, tamarind, ginger, garlic, curry, turmeric and chili powder, canola oil, sea salt, fresh curry leaf, mustard seeds and asafetida.

Allergens - mace and asafetida

Free from: msg, palm oil, preservatives, vinegar, nuts, gluten, soy, artificial colors and sugar.

It is vegan/vegetarian friendly.

Size - 300ml Jar/pouch.

Storing; must be refrigerated for longer shelf life as it contains no chemicals, stabilizers or preservatives to extend shelf life.

Four steps to make the best butter chicken curry:

  1. Sauté 1kg of your desired protein/ vegetable / tofu / paneer in a pan till it is cooked fully.
  2. Add this jar of Butter Chicken Gravy to your sautéed ingredients and mix well.
  3. Add ½ - 1 cup of hot water, mix well, check salt add if desired.
  4. Bring to one rolling boil, then remove from heat. Let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. 

Finishing the curry

  • If you are using yogurt whisk well (or else it will split), add little by little taste and stop when you are happy with the taste. 

  • If you are using coconut cream, shake well, add a little taste and add more if required stop when you are happy with the taste profile.

DON’T ADD TOO MUCH WATER AS THE COCONUT CREAM/ CREAM OR YOGHURT WILL DILUTE THE CURRY FURTHER.  SLOWLY ADD CREAM OR COCONUT CREAM OR YOGHURT AND KEEP CHECKING THE TASTE STOP WHEN IT REACHES THE DESIRED TASTE AND CONSISTENCY.

Mango curry sauce

The curry was really tasty . I enjoyed the mango flavour and it wasn’t too sweet. I made it with chicken and coconut milk.

I took Banus advice and served the curry with a few slices of canned mango and fresh coriander leaves. They definitely complement the dish.

I will definitely be having this curry again.

Wow! Such a delicious curry - and so easy to make. I was worried the mango would be a bit sweet, but the balance of flavours was perfect. I used a kilo of chicken and it made enough for five of us, plus leftovers for lunch the next day (the best part!). So much better and faster than a trip to the local takeaway, at a fraction of the price. Thank you!

I bought for the first time Babu's gravies. So far I have made a mango chicken curry and it was sooo full of flavour!! I am impressed!
